An open access journal, besides its empirical focus the journal promotes discussions about European traditions and perspectives in futures research. Another objective is to advance the theoretical and methodological underpinnings of futures studies.
The journal of future studies, strategic thinking and policy
Futures® is an international, refereed, multidisciplinary journal concerned with medium and long-term futures of cultures and societies, science and technology, economics and politics, environment and the planet, individuals and humanity.
World Futures Studies Federation (WFSF) has published a magazine since its inception - since even before the organisation was formally constituted. The WFSF magazine has gone through several iterations, changing its name and style with the changing times over nearly five decades. We have just launched a new version of the WFSF magazine. HUMAN FUTURES was launched on 23 December 2016 and is a fresh & contemporary, interactive, online magazine. Each issue will be loosely themed, with the first issue featuring some really exciting and innovative futures work by several of our younger WFSF members. Let us know if you want to contribute.
The editors invite contributors in the areas of foresight, forecasting, long-range planning, visioning and other related areas, from any of the main research frameworks of futures studies – empirical, interpretative, critical and action learning. The journal invites contributions which offer distinctive viewpoints on a broad range of futures and field-oriented issues.
World Futures Review (WFR) is the top forum for all who are professionally involved in exploring trends and alternatives for society. This dynamic quarterly publication offers valuable insight on the theoretical, research and practical issues confronting those interested in futures research. Along with interviews with leading futures practitioners, WFR publishes important new foresight literature.
